Haigh Woodland Park is a great place to host a traditional Oktoberfest! The site will be transformed into an authentic Oktoberfest experience. The Festzelt will have a capacity of 500 people and there will be an authentic outdoor German beer garden.
Seats will be filled starting from the front. That means the earlier you book the better seat you get for Haigh Oktoberfest.
We all know authentic German beer and food needs to be part of Oktoberfest but Haigh Oktoberfest will be about much more than German beer! Over one long weekend you will be able to experience everything that makes a real Oktoberfest. We’ll have live music, Oktoberfest decoration with traditional blue and white colours and our waitresses and waiters dressed in Dirndl and Lederhosen. The Festzelt will be filled with long trestle tables. In addition, we will have an outdoor beer garden for the perfect Haigh Oktoberfest feeling!
Beer will be served in steins (two pints) and will include beers specially brewed for Oktoberfest and hopefully you will not sit for long before you will want to sing along and stand on the benches.
We recommend you take a taxi for your journey home, after several cold steins of beer your car is not to be used! (Subject to demand for the Friday & Saturday evening sessions we are looking at booking private double-decker buses to get revelers up to Haigh and back from the Town Centre, with one or two collection and drop off points. If interested please leave details when booking and we will be in touch)
Two Left Feet
We are still in the throes of development, but are a friendly and welcoming Tap open seven days a week, (see social media pages for the latest Opening Hours) with a great selection of keg/cask beers and cider, plus wines and coffee. Works are taking place to open an upstairs bar (late September 2017) and also to install a brewery later this year.
When completed The Tap and Brewery will be a fabulous all year round venue but especially in summer sat out in the fully licensed Kitchen Courtyard. You will be able to enjoy a menu of beer tapas and sharing dishes (designed to compliment the beers) and there will also be a on site off license, so you can take your favourite beers home.
We will be catering for private functions in the bars, in the courtyard or in specially erected marquees. (Please ask Sally for details)
The brewery itself will be able to be seen from the ground floor and first floor bar, but to get even closer, you will be able to book a brewery tour, on Saturday and Sunday at 2pm. Groups of 10-20 will be able to book during the week with prior arrangement.
The ground floor bar is also dog friendly.
